There was a nuclear war in 2010.

Very few survived...

Those that did went underground and were still effected.
Those that didn't died.
For those underground the radiation had diverse effects.
Depending on the radiation they received, they developed different abilities.
Some developed extra strength, others the ability to shape shift, and many other traits.

Now, over 100 years since the first attack, we are getting the first real organization.
There's a city on each continent that is a safe haven for the subhumans that now are needing civilizations again.
Some still live in the wilderness but it is deadly.
Humans weren't the only things effected by radiation.
The world seems to have traveled back in time.
The climate is Tropical or Desert.
Shore lines have changed and mountains were leveled.
The world is full of creatures that no one knows anymore, and most of the plants bite too.

Your part is to come above ground and find a niche in which to survive.
